I will explain to you believers, non-believers and those who just want to know more about paranormal activity, such as ghosts, spirits and so on. I'm not an expert but I do study these things by free will and it has always been an interest. I am not an idiot, I don't believe that a quick wind or a little rustle in the leaves to be a ghost. Let me here explain to you, and hopefully make some of you believe that this is a thing that's excisting...whether you like it or not.

What are ghosts?
Some believes that ghosts are evil spirits. Some believe that they are dead people here to scare the living crap out of us. I can tell you that both are wrong. First of all, ghosts are NOT evil and they are NOT from Satan (or any dude down there). Out of a scientific, and as rational as it can be, ghosts and spirits are an electromagnetic energy. Our soul is that little electric thing that all living creatures, humans and other animals, have in our brain, that thing makes us live. When we die our, so called, soul goes to the other side. A spirit world, so forget everything called heaven or hell. A ghost is accually a human beings soul, on earth for different reasons. All ghosts are neutral, not evil nor good. They are controlled by how this person was in life. Whether this person goes to the other side or not, depends on the person and how he or she died.

Who becomes a ghost?
Everyone can. Even animals. People who dies a quick death can become one because they just haven't relized that they really are dead. They walk around and follows people like normal (see the movie The Sixth Sense for example). People can also become one if they have something to tell, or if they are looking for something (like a lover, a child or whatever). Some people are so angry that they have died that they just can't cross over. These ghosts can be mistaken for something evil. Some ghosts has crossed over by takes a visit sometimes just to check. These are what we call guardian angels and everybody have got one.

What kind of ghosts are there?
Ghosts - Dead people
Poltergeists - A very angry ghost (Poltergeists can also be "created" by angry teenagers and children. But then it's just a spirit, not a ghost.)
Guardian angels - Usually a relative. Can also be a pet.
A reflection in time - These are not ghosts. These are a spirit that just...are. The person has crossed over a long time ago and has left a reflecton of it's path. They can't harm you or even see you. They walk the way that they have walked or do old tasks they have done all their life.
Spirits - A spirit is more a kind of thing, a reflection kinda. These cannot think and interact with other things, as far as I know.

Can everyone see ghosts?
Yep. Until you're about 16 you have a bigger chance of seeing ghosts, otherwise everyone can see them. Believers as non-believers. Animals has better senses that us and can therefor see ghosts aswell. I have problems with people like James van Praagh because he makes it seem like he have somekind of "gift", making him special. And it doesn't seem logic that you can connect with crossed over people that fast as he can.

What does ghosts look like?
They can appear as:
Draft or wind - You gotta start reconsider things when you suddenly feel a slight wind blowing though your home when every window is closed..
Shadows - These can take all kinds of shapes, everything from just a dark thing to a full body shadow.
Smoke formations - Like above.
Orbs - Small levitating balls, usually greyish and can easly be mixed up with dust and particles reflecting cameralight. If a ghost appears as an orb, it will fly around and change direction faster than dust does.
Light formations - Can appear like a bigger light formations (commonly mistaken for angels or other religious humbug), bigger flying lights balls, small flashing lights (but don't mix these up with fireflies) and similar.
Fog - Mostly small foglike formations floating in the air kinda like smoke but foggier.
Physical touch - Yes, they can touch you, hold you down and move things (pull out drawers, move chairs, open/close doors and so on). I don't know if this apply to all ghosts.
Speach - You won't hear any conversations really but you can hear sentences, words, sighs, screams, groans and similar.
Temperateur change - When certain spots or places change temperateur, mostly cold, unusally fast.
Electric energies - Most ghosts can be noticed when they affects electric things like TV, radios, lights and so on.
Moodswings - Some ghosts can affect your emotions and you can suddenly feel really angry, stressed, cold, excited and so on. This is because the ghosts feelings is affecting you. You can also suddenly feel pain in some body parts, like if a ghost have been hit on the head and died that way, you can suddenly feel sharp headaches.
They can also be shown as full body persons, just as normal as anyone really. It's probably that what makes people scared as hell. But they are not here to scare you so you don't have to worry.

Can they hurt you?
Both yes and no. Mostly ghosts won't hurt you at all, but they can if you happens to have a pretty pissy one at home. Poltergeists and very angry ghosts can hurt you though by throwing things at you, push you or slap you.

Where can I see ghosts?
Everywhere and at any time of the day. Cemetarys doesn't have much activity, since it's a resting place. You as a person can also be haunted. A person who are at the wrong place at the wrong time or someone who experiment with Ouijaboards and stuff can get a ghost on their neck. It will follow you around and, as I described in one of the questions above, can mix with your emotions.
Paranormal investigators "measures" ghosts with electric instruments. You can measure it yourself by switching on the TV on that black and white thingy that goes "fsssss" or on the radio between the channels (where you also can recieve signals from space). When you do that, you're sending out signals right out in the air. This is called EVP, electric voice phenomenon. These are ghost trying to communicate via speech.

How can I get rid of ghosts?
If you got a ghosts at home that scares you or just disturbs you, you can easy remove it. Hopefully. If you just calmly tell this person that this is your house and and not his/hers. Tell it that he/she are dead and have to cross over. Explain to it, straight out in the air, why you want it gone. Like you would to a very very drunk person, kinda. If this doesn't work, call your local medium (because they usually have more experience in this than you). Don't bother to bring a priest cuz they can accually make it worse. If that doesn't work, (which it usually do) move.

Can I call for ghosts?
Yes but I won't tell you how because you can invoke the wrong kind of things. It's for your own good.

What is a medium?
There are people that are more sensitive to paranormal activities than others, this does not mean you should trust everyone that say that they are. A medium can more easy connect with ghosts and spirits. Ghosts can connect through these so you can understand why things are why they are. Even if they're not sensitive at all, they still have more experience with the subject than others.
Most mediums that appears on TV and stuff are mostly frauds, since this is a unusual gift that shouldn't be used in this way.

Don't be stupid.
I'm not stupid when it comes to this. When I hear something in the night I will ALWAYS eliminate as many natural causes for the sound as I can. And you should do that too. Don't think that every sound is a ghost. The cratching in the walls can be bugs, the doors opening can be a draft or the rustling and knockings can be old furnitures. Don't believe everything you see.
A sighting of a face in a picture can be a overexposed pic from the negatives.
A white smoke or fog can be a reflection from the flash.
Orbs can be particles near the cameralense. If you're afraid the fear can make you hallucinate, so calm down.

Have you ever seen a ghost?
I don't know really. One time I was walking outside in a calm night when I saw a kind of black smoke (like cigarettsmoke but black) in a unfocused shape that "flew" right across a roundabout and then just dissapeared. Otherwise I have never seen or experienced anything. The other time was when I was walking with my friend on a path near the ocean. Maybe 5 meters in front of me a white formation crossed the path and dissapeared. I don't trust myself so I still can't prove what I saw.

Still not convinced?
Well, I didn't write this to convince you. I wrote it to TELL you that this is a scientific thing that's not magic at all. It's here whether you like it or not. You don't have to be afraid of it cuz it ain't gonna hurt you. It won't take over your life or anything. Don't be afraid. You're not afraid of air are you? Still, you can't see it but it's still there.
